William Kromka, MD, is an American psychiatrist practicing in Colorado. He is board certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology[1][2] and is the founder of several physician-led clinics in the Denver metropolitan area and Boulder that provide transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), esketamine (SPRAVATO®) treatment, ketamine therapy, and psychiatric medication management.[13][14][15] He is a co-author of a 2025 narrative review in the Journal of Palliative Medicine on ketamine and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy for psychiatric and existential distress in patients with serious medical illness.[7][8]
Early life and education
Kromka was born and raised in Aurora, Colorado.[15] He earned bachelor's degrees in Integrative Physiology and Anthropology from the University of Colorado Boulder, and received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 2019.[1][15][27] He was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society in 2019.[1][29]
Training
Kromka completed his residency in psychiatry at Brigham and Women's Hospital / Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts, from 2019 to 2023.[1][3][28] He held a Massachusetts medical license during residency, which is now inactive, and has held a Colorado medical license since 2023.[1][4][26]
Career
Following residency, Kromka returned to Colorado. Boulder Community Health has listed him among the psychiatrists of its Center for Interventional Psychiatry at the Della Cava Family Medical Pavilion in Boulder, a program providing electroconvulsive therapy, ketamine infusion therapy, and transcranial magnetic stimulation.[6] Physician directories including Healthgrades, U.S. News & World Report, and Doximity have listed his practice location at 4801 Riverbend Road, Boulder.[2][3][1]
In 2026, Kromka founded TMS Therapy Centers Colorado in Aurora, a physician-led clinic offering FDA-cleared TMS, certified SPRAVATO® treatment, ketamine therapy, and telepsychiatry across Colorado; the opening was announced in September 2026.[13][14][15] He subsequently founded Denver TMS Therapy in Denver's LoHi neighborhood, Denver Ketamine Clinic near Washington Park, Bluebird TMS in Greenwood Village, and TMS Boulder in downtown Boulder, each operating on the same physician-led model.[16][17][18][19] The clinics are listed in the Find TMS Therapy directory and have been reviewed by Depression Treatment Answers and Ketamine Answers, publications that disclose shared ownership with the clinics.[20][21][22][23][24][25]
Clinical approach
According to his clinic biographies, Kromka's practice begins with understanding a patient's symptoms in their social, psychological, developmental, and biological context, and treats the treatment plan as a shared decision made with the patient. His stated clinical range includes psychotherapy, medication management, and interventional treatments including electroconvulsive therapy, ketamine and esketamine, and TMS.[15][16][17][18][19]
